Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt the age of 27, he was enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark from which he graduated in 1995. In addition to his part in the drama show telecast worldwide under the name The Killing, he subsequently played in two other internationally well-known Danish dramas, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He also played a prominent part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as the blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American TV series House of Cards, he played the role of President Russia. In 2018, he was awarded an International Emmy Award for his character as the president of Russia in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. This was shown in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in the year 2019. In addition to his home country of Danish, Mikkelsen speaks fluent Swedish, German and English and has learned diverse accents. He has claimed that he and his brother first learned English through listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
